Dorm Decor

^^ click me! ^^

Being a college student, I live in an on-campus apartment. I have five amazing roommates, and we all have individual rooms that are approximately 9x9 feet. Needless to say, it's a pretty tight space to live in! When I first moved in, I walked into a room with a lofted wooden bed frame, a twin-xl mattress (that was hard as a rock), a wooden desk,  and a small 4-drawer dresser...that's it! I have had so much fun transforming this very small space into my own private, little sanctuary.

Prior to my freshman year, my amazing, crafty dad helped me build custom wooden pieces for my dorm room. Together, we built the white piece that serves as my bedside table, and the white headboard piece for extra storage. The table holds my mini-fridge and printer. Last year it also held my microwave. As you can tell, it is a very useful piece!
The headboard piece has two shelves which has allowed me space to hold such items as books and candles. My custom, suede headboard, which was made by a family friend, fits perfectly into the large opening of this piece.

I decided to swap the wooden desk that came with the apartment, and replace it with my own white desk from home. I have had this desk since I was a young girl!
The "cubbies" component of this desk is my favorite part, as it allows lots of space for supplies and decor. Having this desk at school gives me a little piece of "home".

I love decorating my spaces, especially when it is a challenge. Moving in, I thought there was no way that I could transform my "small, cramped shoe box" into a comfy bedroom that I would enjoy. Now, after a little hard work and help from my amazing, creative mom, I am obsessed with my little 9x9 humble abode!

I purchased the majority of the decorations featured in the photos from Homegoods or Tjmaxx. For example, the curtains, the gold accent table, my desk chair, frames, and the tall gold lamp, all came from multiple visits to these two stores alone! Finding the best deals on adorable items at both of these places is so much fun! TJ Maxx and Homegoods  are definitely my "go-to" stores, and I would recommend them to anyone who is  transforming a small dorm or apartment room into a beautiful, comfy "home away from home"!

Spring Feeling

dress:  Saks Off 5th // shoes:  Rebecca Minkoff // earrings:  Bevello // bracelet:  David Yurman // monogram ring:  Moon and Lola // monogram necklace:  Moon and Lola (large)

How cute is this  Lucca Couture dress?! I got this beauty when visiting in Miramar Beach, Florida, this past spring break. I found this adorable piece at  Saks Off 5th for such a great deal! It is super comfortable and flowy, so the wind actually did me some good when shooting photos the other day. Their is also an  off-the-shoulder top in the same print as my dress that is under $30! Yesterday was the first day of spring and I could not be more excited for this new season to begin. I am so tired of cold weather and so ready for days at the beach.

I worked at a boutique here in Wilmington last fall and snagged these end of the season  Rebecca Minkoff sandals  for full price... but you're in luck: they're on major sale right now (and just so happen to come in six different adorable colors)!!! They will for sure be on my feet on repeat throughout this upcoming spring and summer.

Let me tell you about my obsession with these  earrings. I recently went into  Bevello and saw these on display and instantly fell in love. Did I mention that these also come in six adorable colors!? The hot pink ones are sitting high up on my wish-list.

Off-the-shoulder dresses and tops have seemed to fill my closet recently, and I am so happy that this trend has made a comeback this spring! I think it is so flattering on everyone. I've linked a few of my other favorite off-the-shoulder items on my wish-list   here,  here,  here.

Hint of Spring

top:  Nordstrom // jeans:  Pacsun // shoes:  Rebecca Minkoff // earrings:  Sheila Fajl // necklace:  Perspicasity // monogram ring:  Moon and Lola // bracelet:  David Yurman

Well hey there! I am so excited to finally be blogging again. The Chic Pineapple has a whole new look, and I couldn't be happier. Please email me with any ideas for future blog posts on TCP! Thanks for reading!

This  sweater I got from  Nordstrom has been on repeat all season. I love the distressed look of it, since this has been such a popular trend this year (I've linked a few of my favorite distressed tops  here,  here, and  here.).  It is a light-weight and off the shoulder, so it has been perfect for days like today! I live in Wilmington, North Carolina, for those who don't know me well. Wilmington (and honestly just NC in general) has the most unpredictable weather EVER. One day it will be 77° and the next it will be 45° and raining.

The  jeans I am wearing are my new favorite jeans that I own, and that's saying a lot. They are so comfortable and affordable! I have a real issue with jeans getting loose throughout the day (i'm sure you all can relate), but luckily I never have that problem with these. They stay fitted to my legs all day, and are extremely stretchy. I also love the little detail at the bottom of them! I paired these jeans with my new  Rebecca Minkoff wedges, which are beyond comfortable. I could wear these all day without my feet becoming sore. They are perfect for pants as well as dresses for summer!

Recently I visited the adorable town of Seaside, Florida, and absolutely fell in love with the beachside bazaar  Perspicasity. This is where I found my adorable tassel necklace! Sadly you can't shop their items online, so  here is another neutral wooden bead necklace that I love! I  would highly recommend visiting Seaside if you're looking for a great travel and shopping destination.
